Win some, lose some.

Not every project, is a home run, a beautiful piece and a happy customer. Sometimes you don’t finish the project. Sometimes you don’t get it right. What you always hope for is that in the end, you learn from it.

I have learned a lot from my mistakes over the years. The first notable one in my career was flipping a product image and thus reflecting the logo to appear backwards. The client called me out (nicely, I’ll add) and that was just the beginning of the long list of learning opportunities. I continued to succeed and fail my way through my days at the agencies and nights at home, freelancing.

The most recent of failures became one of my biggest lessons yet. I learned to keep my word, stand up for my work, and treat my freelancing projects like a real business.

I was so eager to get the project, I bid low to make sure I had the opportunity. It’s also important to me that each business I work with, is set up to succeed. If that means, I work for less to make sure they have the materials they need, so be it. [Important to know that there is a limit to this rule.]

In the end, I didn’t fail, I won. I pushed for good work, I collaborated with some amazing women, and in the end, made my work and integrity my priority.

SOME GREAT WORK IN HERE, AND RELISH ENDED UP WITH A LOGO THAT ALIGNS WITH SOME OF THE WORK WE DID. IT WAS GOOD TO SEE THAT OUR EXPLORATION, PAVED THE WAY FOR WHAT ULTIMATELY WORKED FOR THIS GREAT SMALL BUSINESS IN READING, PA.
